    About the Role


    We are currently searching for a Director, Global Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Legal to lead our Global Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation legal team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team and help drive the strategy and ensure compliance of our global employee benefits and executive compensation programs.

    What you'll do


    • Lead a team of lawyers responsible for supporting global employee benefits and executive compensation.
    • Partner closely with Uber's Global Benefits Team on all aspects of global employee benefits, including the design, implementation, and administration of retirement and health and welfare benefit programs.
    • Serve as secretary and counsel to Uber's Global Benefits Committee.
    • Support the people aspects of M&A and integration activities, including subsidiary support.
    • Partner with and advise Uber's Equity Team on equity plan and ESPP programs.
    • Partner with and advise Uber's business groups on fringe benefit programs.
    • Partner with and advise Uber's payroll and tax teams on employment tax issues.
    • Stay up to date on legal changes affecting employee benefits, including partnering with industry associations.
    • Build strong relationships with business partners in HR, tax, and legal to ensure the right level of support and collaboration.
    Basic Qualifications


    • Minimum of twelve (12) years of legal experience in employee benefits.
    • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state.
    • Strong knowledge of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code (including section 409A), HIPAA, and the ACA.
    • Experience with global benefit programs.

    • The ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others.
    • Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action.
    • Excellent business judgment and great communication skills.
    • Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
    • Enthusiastic about Uber and the opportunity to have a big impact


    For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.


    For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.

    For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.


    For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
