Description

Duties:


Serves as the senior official for planning, policy, and program activities related to Research, Program Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits and services.

Decides on the scope of work for subordinate staff responsible for a variety of Research, Program Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits functions and programs.

Delegates the work of staff while ensuring effective operations and communications of program initiatives throughout the Research, Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits (OREIA).


Serves as CSOSA's primary representative in meetings with high-level officials to present and negotiate strategies for Research, Program Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits programs.

Works with CSOSA's top leaders and management to direct a program to assess business plans and program requirements. Oversees the development of Research, Program Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits programs and initiatives to support organizational objectives. Plays a key leadership role in the design of CSOSA's strategic and implementation plans.

Monitors new and proposed legislation and regulations for impact on CSOSA program activities. Applies current awareness of emerging trends and developments in Research, Program Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits and activities.

Participates in task forces and committees to respond to Congressional and regulatory inquiries.


Performs the full range of executive and managerial duties, assuming and exercising leadership responsibility for the Research, Program Evaluation, Investigations, and Audits mission and functions.

Supervises subordinate Senior executives and technical program staff (responsible for a wide range of program areas including program analysis and quality assurance) and staff involved in administrative functions.

Serves as a member of the Executive team, responsible for providing expert advice and recommendations to the Agency Director.

Qualifications:


  • As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core Qualifications and Technical Qualifications listed below. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS14/15 grade level in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector.
As such, your resume should demonstrate that you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully fulfill responsibilities inherent in most SES positions such as:


  • Directing the work of an organizational unit;
  • Ensuring the success of one or more specific major programs or projects;
  • Monitoring progress toward strategic organizational goals, evaluating organizational performance and taking action to improve performance; and
  • Supervising the work of employees; and exercising important policymaking, policy determining, or other executive functions.
