The city of Dortmund, in the Youth Office, is looking to fill a position in the "Foster Care Services" department - 51/- in the "Social Pedagogical Specialist Services" team, full-time/network care (m/f/d) for the northern region as soon as possible.

The position is part-time (50%) and classified in pay group S 1- pay table S - (Annex C to the TVöD).

The job posting is open to Diplom Social Workers, Diplom Social Pedagogues, and Bachelor of Arts/Social Work with state recognition.

In Dortmund, over 750 young people are placed in foster families, which accounts for about 60% of children and adolescents in out-of-home care.

The full-time/network care team places children with suitable foster parents and supports them throughout their stay, in close coordination with the youth welfare services.

As part of the reorganization of the Youth Office, the concept of foster care services is being further developed.

The main tasks include:

Assessing potential foster parents for suitability and making decisions about accepting foster children (if assigned the additional task of "suitability assessment")
Placing children in foster families
Providing professional advice and support to foster families throughout the duration of the placement
Crisis intervention
Facilitating contact between biological parents and foster families
Liaising with other institutions such as youth welfare services, schools, etc.
