The Accelerator Division is responsible for designing and operating cutting-edge accelerator facilities and conducting accelerator research and development. We are currently in the technical design phase for PETRA IV, a new synchrotron radiation facility.

The project aims to replace the 2.3 km long PETRA III storage ring with a new ultra-low emittance ring using multi-bend achromat technology.


About the role:

  • Take on the responsibility of impedance modeling for the PETRA IV storage ring
  • Design and implement beam transfer and injection into PETRA IV
  • Support the implementation of the multibunch feedback system
  • Lead R&D activities within the PETRA IV beam physics team, with a focus on novel injection schemes and beam dynamics
