    Product & Costing Associate - New York, United States - Tailored Shared Services

    Description

    The Planning/Costing Department is responsible for maintaining YOY cost savings for the company. Associates are expected to understand how to negotiate and review costs for overall yearly savings. While looking at both core and seasonal products, the role requires analyzation of costs season over season by program to maintain buyer margin. There is also an overlap with planning, production, and product development.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Works closely with Product Development Manager and Director of Planning/Costing to:

  • Maintain BOM Costing docs and look for areas for cost savings.
  • Review all costing and compare to previous seasons, work with cross functional teams on YOY cost savings
  • Work on pre-buy cost savings and negotiations with vendors.
  • Input all costing into PLM system.
  • Confirm cost sheets are correct and complete before sending to merch team.
  • Maintain library of fabric inventories and track/input fabric costing
  • Work with finance on YOY costing documents.
  • Maintain fabric inventory docs from all vendors.
  • SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in related field required.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience required.
  • General knowledge of men's fashion
  • Experience working with product lifecycle management (PLM) software strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of textile and apparel design principles
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative and creative environment with little supervision.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
  • Highly dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Capacity for effective cross-functional collaboration within the organization
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, juggle and execute tasks, and deliver results on strict deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail and demonstrated customer-service focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management and coworkers.
  • Adaptable and flexible to change, new ideas, and innovative approaches.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Be able to work full-time from our company's New York, NY office.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Regular and on-time attendance; Hours can regularly exceed 40 hours per week; Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform general office administrative activities: writing, copying, filing, delivering, and using the telephone.
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment.

    The starting salary for this position is $61,300 – $81,700 and may increase to $102,200 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable
