    Equity Research Associate/ VP - Power & Utilities

    New York, New York

    Job Description:

    The Power & Utilities sector is a $1.1 trillion market cap sector, covering 55 stocks in Power, Regulated & Unregulated Utility companies. It attracts significant investor interest across institutional and retail clients, with a daily trading volume exceeding $4 billion. The equity research team for Power & Utilities is looking for a candidate eager to explore this dynamic sector.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
    • Write industry and company reports from scratch
    • Develop essential databases for research
    • Show strong industry knowledge and judgment
    • Collaborate on key industry themes with Senior Analysts
    • Build relationships with contacts at covered companies
    • Contribute to client meetings and events
    • Interact with key opinion leaders
    • Stay updated on market, industry, and company activities
    • Generate data-driven investment ideas
    • Utilize industry contacts for insights
    • Regular communication with clients

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years focusing on Power & Utilities sector
    • Strong writing and modeling skills
    • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Passion for stock market research
    • Basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, and policy
    • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking
    • Team player with strong collaboration skills
