    Risk Manager - Risk Oversight and Controls

    Job Description

    What is the opportunity?

    As Risk Manager, you are an integral member of the GRM Market and Counterparty Credit Risk Controls and Oversight team. Liaising directly with key contacts and leaders across the bank, you have broad exposure to multiple business lines such as Product control, Capital Markets, Risk, etc. In this highly visible role, you build relationships throughout the bank and perform Volcker Rule governance and market risk capital controls. You act as a Risk representative, providing insight, guidance and control where applicable, and having direct and immediate impact to RBC.

    What will you do?

    • Perform analysis across all Volcker prescribed metrics for trading desks assigned
    • Prepare various committee materials and follow up with FO traders, Business Managers and other functions for details needed for the committee's review
    • Coordinate submission materials, prepare and respond to internal and external regulatory and compliance inquiries
    • FRTB Coordination and Oversight – Application of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book on desk organization structure based on Basel Rules
    • Desk and trading book change management analysis and coordination
    • Perform regulatory limit calibration

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have:

    • At least 2 years of experience in Capital Markets within a financial institution(s) is ideal
    • Volcker Rule, Capital Analysis, and/or Market Risk experience
    • Broad knowledge base or experience in Regulatory Risk
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
    • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance or general business and/or any bachelor's degree with the desired work experience
    • Understanding of investment banking, capital markets and corporate banking
    • Understanding of Financial Products, Profit and Loss Attribution, FRTB and its qualitative desk requirements

    Nice-to-Have

    • Excel, Tableau or other programming languages

    The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $80,000-$135,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
