The Collateral Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, measuring, and monitoring key funding and collateral risks related to CME Clearing's acceptable collateral.

The primary responsibilities of the Manager are to propose well thought out solutions to complex problems and manage/lead some of the team's prioritization of work and a subset of team functions related to collateral, funding, and default management.

The Manager should proactively identify relevant business, market and other risks CME faces and have a strong understanding of CME's policies and procedures, rulebook, and regulations which it faces.

In addition, the Manager will play an active role in cross-department projects, aid in preparing documentation for regulatory requests, and provide guidance and support to Analyst, Associates, and Sr.

Associates within the team.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop thoughtful, wellorganized and onpoint analysis of pertinent collateral risk issues.
  • Lead compliance of CME's regulatory requirements through engagements with regulators and
providing assistance in regulatory and third-party requests.

  • Lead the buildout and implementation of new risk management procedures, processes and
methodologies.

  • Engage other teams to perform crossfunctional projects within CME Clearing.
  • Provide guidance and developmental support to Analysts, Associates, and Sr. Associates on
the team, as well as for other staff within the Clearing House.

  • Present complex analysis to the CHRC and other external parties.
  • Possess an indepth knowledge of CME's regulatory requirements and compliance with
requirements, CME's rulebook, and other regulations impacting CME's client base.

  • Keeps up to date on current and future events, trends, regulations, and policies impacting
CME, its counterparties and the industry

  • Directs the daily collateral risk monitoring.
  • Explore new approaches and technologies to risk management and propose and implement
applicable use cases.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Evaluation of current collateral types and structure, and evaluation of collateral risks
presented to CME. Monitor collateral daily and report out notable items to senior
management as necessary. Create regulatory reports related to collateral and default
management using a standard template. Dialogue with internal parties regarding CME
Clearing's collateral policies and procedures. Communicate and work with other departments
in relation to collateral risk issues. Screen collateral types on a monthly basis and update
systems to reflect CUSIP eligibility.

  • Perform market and adhoc analysis, including any competitive analysis or key market events
and impact to clearing members and market participants. Present analysis and other projects
to senior management team during quarterly credit committee meetings. Collaborate with
other members on the Credit, Liquidity, and Collateral team to complete ad-hoc analysis and
projects.

  • Support default management policies and procedures, including collateral liquidation drills
and collateral liquidation exercises with external parties

  • Dialogue with external parties (market participants and regulators) regarding CME Clearing's
collateral policies and procedures and overall best practices.

  • Evaluate entire collateral structure to ensure it meets clearing member needs and work across
teams internally to ensure consistency with stress testing, haircuts, liquidity risk framework,
and liquidity resource sizing.

  • Complex analysis regarding a current or proposed funding structure, any agreements with
banks or external parties to provide collateral services, evaluation of new collateral types,
agreements associated with CME Clearing's liquidity facilities. Analysis includes impact
analysis internally as well as externally.

Skills and Software Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite; Bloomberg
  • Selfmotivated professional
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to people who are at varying levels of development
  • Must be comfortable discussing findings and making recommendations with the appropriate
balance of tact and professional assertion.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities changes
  • Ability to work independently accurately and to meet deadlines
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Capability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Familiarity with derivatives and securities preferred

The salary range for this role is $144,700-$241,100.
