Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Performs advanced consultative services and technical assistance work related to all educational and training programs offered by the Elections Division.

Work involves planning, developing, and conducting virtual training opportunities, regional training events, and focus groups and providing consultative services and technical assistance to election staff, government agencies, and election and party officials.

Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Provides efficient, professional and courteous customer support to election officials and the general public.
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages virtual training opportunities, regional training events, and focus groups; including purchase requests, onsite communications, agenda, and facility preparations for the event.
  • Plans, prepares, and publishes virtual training opportunities to state election officials.
  • Works with division staff to identify training needs across various stakeholder groups.
  • Disseminates event notices and reminders to county and local election officials.
  • Assists with the preparation and dissemination of website information and election materials.
  • Creates surveys, compile data, and analyze reports.
  • Measures the effectiveness of divisional training efforts through input from participants.
  • Monitors all election webbased training events and provides technical support to users.
  • Assists division with the development of training materials and resources.
  • Facilitates, at the direction of division leadership, focus group meetings, scheduling, and materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university. Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a yeartoyear basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the election process at the local, county and state levels.
  • Ability to speak and write in Spanish

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers daily as well as in crisis situations.
  • Ability to provide solutions to problems.
  • Ability to analyze data and pay close attention to detail.
  • Experience in providing clear instructions to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Experience with public speaking before both small and large groups.
  • Skill in the scripting and editing of materials for publication.
  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively within established guidelines.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and be an effective team player.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
