Major Duties
Under general supervision, the HSI CALPP Project Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of project activities for the Climate Action Leadership Pathways Project (CALPP) as directed by the CALPP Principal Investigator (PI), in coordination with key project partners, including VOCES Social Justice Magnet, Carlos Santana Elementary Schools, Community Action Research Project, and other CALPP partners.
The incumbent performs the full range of work related to program and policy research, analysis, development, evaluation, and operational analysis.
Coordinates and regularly liaises with the PI, Project Coaches, K-12 students, and educator Climate Action Fellows, partner affiliates, and partner sites.
Provides coordination for overall project alignment across all project segments to complete and fulfill the project's objectives and meet key project milestones.
Collects, compiles, and reviews needed data metrics for grant reporting and works to draft and submit all grant reporting in a timely manner to ensure overall project compliance in data and reporting.

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field. Chicana/o Studies, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Urban Studies, or Community Studies preferred.
Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesWorking knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational analysis and techniques. Knowledge and experience working with Chicanx/Latinx and other racially/ethnically diverse K-16 students, parents, and communities.
Ability and specialized skills to expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications; oversee and/or train others and provide lead work direction; interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; compile, write and present reports related to the program.
Ability to be well-organized, prioritize, multitask, and simultaneously handle several events and projects; schedule and organize meetings with diverse groups, organizations, stakeholders, and individuals and support overall project scheduling; communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to gather and compile information and data, conduct reviews, and effectively organize, communicate, and present information and ideas in oral, written, and presentation form.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to conduct research and complete reporting, including data and other collection of other project success metrics. Ability to collect and evaluate data for overall grant reporting.
Awareness of environmental and social issues impacting Chicanx/Latinx and low-income communities.
Fluent and literate in Spanish and English.

HIRING RANGE:
$4379 - $5700 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
The salary range for this classification is:
$4379 - $7922 per month
HOURS:
Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
