Our Profile:

Climate change presents us with a global challenge that can only be solved through a sustainable revolution in the various sectors of our economy.

The products of tomorrow may look very different from today:
hydrogen-powered engines, lightweight electric cars, or highly efficient wind turbines, all of these products require innovative manufacturing processes.

At the Chair of Manufacturing Technology, we research these process technologies of the future, both on a fundamental and application-oriented level.

The Grinding Technology group focuses on both fundamental and application-oriented and data-based methods and approaches to prepare grinding-producing companies for the upcoming product generations in terms of sustainability and productivity.

This includes innovative new materials, novel simulations and model-based process design, Industry 4.0, and functional surfaces. The Grinding Technology group has a brand new machine park for this purpose.

This includes highly complex CNC grinding machines for flat and profile grinding, tool grinding, external cylindrical grinding, as well as several systems for honing and flow grinding.
