    Description

    Job Description

    Job Description

    Senior Process Improvement Associate

OCT Consulting LLC is a boutique management and strategy consulting company that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology. OCT Consulting has grown significantly within the last 3 years and continues to grow.

    Responsibilities and Duties

OCT Consulting is looking to bring onboard an experienced federal government management consultant to support a US civil agency client's effort to reorganize their workforce of over 500 FTEs around Category Management principles. If you are intelligent, intellectually curious, organized, diligent, client-focused, and detail-oriented, and you have significant experience in process design/improvement/reengineering with federal government clients, you may be a great fit for this position.

Among other things, you will be responsible for managing an effort to identify processes that will require change as a result of the reorganization. Once identified, you will lead the effort to document existing processes, determine changes needed, and develop and document new processes (e.g., process flows/maps and SOPs). You will also support communications and change management efforts regarding process changes, and identify training needs. You will also brief senior executives on the transformation. You must be a versatile worker and also contribute to other general management consulting tasks as needed (e.g., supporting change management, leading briefings, conducting general research).

    Responsibilities and duties include:

    • Acting as business process subject matter expert
    • Leading the rigorous identification of processes requiring change
    • Developing and documenting recommended changes
    • Writing and updating the organization's policies related to the reorganization efforts
    • Documenting new and updated business processes, including document review matrices
    • Creating stellar, aesthetically appealing PPT presentations, infographics, and other work products in support of the change
    • Conducting 1:1 and group discussions to gauge the level of change and progress vs. plan
    • Developing communications to update the organization on process changes, including new processes, policies, procedures, and ways of working
    • Communicating business process changes to the client's workforce of over 500 FTEs through cross-channel education and training campaigns
    • Leading briefings to senior executives and other stakeholders on the extent to which defined changes have been implemented and the relative success of implementation
    • Providing support and guidance to the government client around issues related to process change and improvement
    • Assisting with the development of various presentations, briefing materials, plans, and infographics using Excel, Google, and MS PowerPoint
    • Supporting executive-level meeting facilitation and scheduling, and facilitating new and recurring meetings to build consensus, gain approval on key decisions, and conduct research
    • Draft, finalize, and distribute meeting minutes
    • As requested, conduct self-directed research and analysis, produce reports and presentations, and complete other work, as assigned
    • Note that this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a small team of management consultants working closely with high-level government executives to execute a reorganization and build new processes for a high-profile government agency

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience providing expert-level process design/improvement/reengineering support within the Department of State, DoD, or other Federal agencies. While not necessary, experience supporting reorganization efforts for a federal agency is desirable.
    • Certifications or education related to process improvement are desirable
    • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented working style; you should be capable of creating executive-level materials with minimal oversight
    • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in support of senior government stakeholders
    • Ability to create visually appealing infographics and presentations
    • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs, including Visio, as well as Google tools to manage Shared files
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple taskings, and work in a fast-paced working environment
    • Openness to feedback and continuous self-improvement; self-awareness to understand the areas where you excel and those which will require further development
    • Highly intellectually curious and resourceful when approaching problems and determining solutions
    • Willingness to perform a broad range of tasks that include everything from high-level strategy creation to administrative duties
    • Demonstrated critical thinking and flexibility in supporting a diverse set of projects
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Must possess or be able to obtain and retain a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance; the investigation will involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check

    Ability to Commute/Relocate

The position is primarily off-site but may require one or more days per week at the Federal client site in Rosslyn, VA (i.e., Arlington, VA) and/or in Washington, DC.

    Benefits

    Benefits:

The position includes competitive compensation and a full suite of benefits:
