When you should delete this post before reading it

When I was young it was common to say that the cereal box contained more food value than the cereal itself. To be honest I never checked the truth of that statement I simply enjoyed my sugar fix.

The reality is that today that statement might hold true in regard to many of the post we find on our social and business sites. Posts that are written to inflame emotions not promote information. These posts are certainly not in your best interest to read yet read them we do. We like our sugar fix.

Today if you peruse the cereal aisle you will find a plethora of choices ranging from pure sugar to those that claim to be so healthily they will change your life. How much is simple promotion? But to the credit of the manufacture we find a list of ingredients and a label of dietary results. Where do we find this for our posts?

Sure we can read the comments before reading the post but then it is easy to get sucked into an emotional firestorm. I am noticing a shift of some going to the “is it even worth the risk” attitude. Is the only answer be careful what we read? Have an attitude that once was normal, “buyer beware”? Perhaps.

To be honest it is our responsibility to be responsible for what we read and how we respond. Yes we do like to blame others but it is our life and the consequences again are ours. There are tools we can use to mitigate the poor choices but taking responsibility might be the best one.

Blessings.
