Walking on air

In the past I have had the feeling of walking on air. Days that were so good that nothing could touch you. But as I got older those days were fewer and fewer, now they no longer exist. The days where life if perfect, when life just couldn’t get better, do they still exist?

Perhaps I know too many truths about life, talked to so many people with problems. You know, life just taking the shine off of the apple. The saying we all know is ignorance is bliss; perhaps that is true. But now what? Do I just sit and seek the “okay” life? Do I settle for a life that is doable? Is there still that perfection still out there?

Answer, there was never any perfect days, just days I focused on the perfection. There were never days where nothing went wrong, just days I only thought about what went right. Life is truly what we make it. Life is what we do and focus on. I can focus on the pain and problems I work with or I can remember the hand that holds mine. I can see the clouds and the rain or I can see the green trees and grass.

There are as many “walking on air” days ahead as I wish to enjoy; I simply must choose to enjoy them. Oh, it is true that some days are harsh and many that will take a nasty turn, but I do not have to let those days destroy the rest. We might tease and slight dear Pollyanna, but just maybe she had a point. I did enjoy those days I walked on air.
