When the party is over

When the party is over

When the party is over

When the party’s over and it’s time to go home but you don’t want the fun to end.

When the year draws to a close, but it has been the best year to come along in far too long.

When the ride comes to a stop, ending the excitement.

When you place the last handful of dirt upon the grave, finishing the ceremony.

Then …… what?

Pseudo answers abound, casting faults images around.

Sages argue and declare, but true answers are far too rare.

How to know what, how to understand the then.

A light shines, but darkness darker than the deepest night responds.

Pain …... so much pain.

Time, time will heal all wounds, won’t it?

Time will stop the pain, shouldn’t it?

In time it is said, in time.

Tears drop like rain, a sorrow expressed without regret.

Stain lased cheeks, makeup undone.

Shuddering sobs.

Waiting.

Waiting...

Further to below, Greg, there’s always a rainbow, somewhere, after the storm, but we’re often too blinded by tears to see it.

From partying to parting, from fun and frolics to pain and sorrow. You present a downward spiral of emotions, Greg. But isn’t it more often the case that our experiences, and our reactions to them, come and go in cycles of joy then sadness, then joy again, more like a sinusoidal curve than a spiral?
