Candice Galek - Check the backup data -- there should be an XL file called "Contacts" and should include all the e-mail addresses. Phone numbers are not available. What good is a back-up when it is not a true backup? (Rhetorical question . . . . ) This also means we need to make our own data backups from over there. And - this creates a request to beBee Hq - Is there a way to backup the data (Bees and Buzzes) we are plugging into beBee?

This is solid advice Wayne, something I did a few months ago and did again recently was backing up my connections. Unfortunately Linkedin does not allow you access to your followers emails. Unless someone knows different?

Thank you Franci, it is definitely strange to say the least.. I am hearing reports of others with 2500 connections, 5000 connections also being removed. It is difficult to piece it all together.

My hunch is because they are paranoid wimps, Javier C\u00e1mara Rica, which is why these so-called "brainiacs" have unsuccessfully turned the platform into an Orwellian "Big Brother" -- simply shameful!

Picking up on the excellent point made below by Wayne Yoshida, it's not just who you know and who knows you -- but who YOU get to know well. Who will help you when the chips are down? Who will give you the proactive push needed to take your career to the next level? Someone may have tens of thousands of contacts, but what good are those contacts if they don't come through when needed and asked? Thus, to reiterate, make sure you really get to know your VIP contacts well and vice versa. This is best done in-person, face-to-face over coffee, lunch or whatever works for them (not you). Thoughts Candice Galek?

Thank you Candice Galek for exposing this scary issue. I have 2 comments: (1) If you are on LinkedIn, request a back-up now; and (2) On your statement " These days it's all about who you know, not what you know." - here is a small adjustment I'd like to make: It is no longer what you know, it is no longer who you know -- but it is now who knows you - this is because you might not know people but people would know you - see what I mean?
