The Great Need of Our Nation
Listen to this Great Speech. I feel that Ronald Reagan has been one of the two greatest presidents in my life time. He understood what this Nation needed and that is why during his term this Nation also had great time of Prosperity.
The question you make be asking now is , “What did Ronald Reagan know we needed?” Most leaders today feel that the solution is an economical plan, restricting peoples rights, or changing the laws so citizens can use their freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. The great need of our Great Nation is Revival and Spiritual Awaking (Revelations 3:14-22).
We need to see the Truth about ourselves. During his terms Ronald Reagan helped so many understand that they had lukewarm or misguided faiths. We also need to see the hope of God’s provision. “Get what only God gives, Go where God leads, and Receive what only God has.”
In the book 1 Samuel 8:1-22, you will see that the Israelites wanted a physical king. Having a king with a heart “just like God’s” was NOT their focus. They wanted a king just “like all the other nations.” Their faith in the Lord changed. The Lord told Samuel to warn them of what they were asking, yet they still asked. So, they were given a king. Painful times came upon them until King David.
The United States has a very similar scenario. We began this country for the sole purpose to leave the hardship of a kingship. Our Forefathers started our country as “One Nation Under God”. With this strong, correct, focus, the United States grew and became strong. Now, many citizens of the United States of Americans are like the Israelites during the times of 1 Samuel 8:1-22. They have forgot what we already have and what others have sacrificed to give it to us. Today’s citizens looks around and want to be like other countries and now are voting to have a stronger more strict government. They forgot that they are “the People” and thus they are “the government.”
I want to tell you of the Greek word, “Eleutheroo”. I love this word. What it means is “properly, set free, release from bondage”. This is the true freedom we have as Americans. We are free of bondage. Yet, today I know so many people who would rather be wrapped up and allow someone else make a decision for them due to Fear of responsibility, Fear of Failure, and Fear of the unknown.
Today the definition of Freedom keeps changing. America’s founding core meaning of Freedom is not on the freedom “to do”; rather it is on the freedom “from”. People are have gotten so use to having freedom that they believe that they are entitled to it and forgotten that Freedom is not Free. That price was paid for us over 235 years ago, and it is what we still protect today daily. Yet, those citizens who want to do something within their misguided definition of freedom will do it regardless if it is morally right or ethical. This is because they believe it’s their right as an American.
Lastly, "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence. The phrase gives three examples of the "unalienable rights" which the Declaration says have been given to all Man by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect.
The last division today is those rights are biblical principles which many are no longer believing in. Many people NO LONGER can define LIFE, they are willing to SACRIFICE their LIBERTY for a false illusion of security, and they believe in 'ENTITLEMENT' instead of PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. If we can no longer believe in the Foundation of our Nation, it will fall. The United States is like a House. Our Constitution is the Rock the House is built upon. Without it, this house is sitting on sand.
“If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” – Ronald Reagan
