Listen, Learn, and Win

I wrote this buzz from an idea of Rekha Singh in https://www.bebee.com/producer/@rekha-singh-31/why-do-entrepreneurs-fail . My comment was starting to get to long so I decided to just write a buzz. 

Rekha Singh made some great points. Yet, I don't feel that the question is 'Why do entrepreneurs fail?', yet 'Why haven't some entrepreneurs met their goals yet?'. I believe that failing is one of the most important concepts of being an entrepreneur. Yet, modern society is teaching at an early age that failing is bad. This is explained well in Robert Kiyosaki's book, "Why 'A' Students Work for 'C' Students and 'B' Students Work for the Government".

People are taught that hearing the word "NO" is failing. While, it is someone just telling you that they are not interested in the product, service, or opportunity you are presenting. Perhaps, I presented it at a time they didn't need it or not in a way they could fulfill their needs. But, if they said "NO" I must have failed and therefore never try again.

 I personally feel that the most important lesson as an entrepreneur is to learn from our failures and more importantly other's failures, maybe someone who is very successful and has 'failed their way to success'.

Rekha Singh mentioned that many entrepreneurs failed and disappear. The ones that disappear are the ones still with today's education system in their heart. It taught them to think as a bureaucrat. True capitalists are entrepreneurs. They fundamentally believe that the more people they serve, the more effective they become. They may have already risk everything to launch companies, create jobs and build prosperity.

When I wanted to become an entrepreneur, I failed a lot, and learned a lot. I sometimes would have to change the date of my goal, and even jump ship because if new I found a something that was a better investment of my time. The world is always changing, and I needed to changing with it.

But, what I didn't realize was I was very stubborn to those already successful giving me advice. School taught me that getting help from others was cheating or bad. So, I wanted to do all my work by myself.

When I heard words, "Don't try that, I already did, It doesn't work", I was like a child and tried it. Yes, I would try, of course, fail, just like they said I would. I did learn from my experience, yet it was a waste of my time, effort, and resources. The reason I had not met so many of my goals at that time in my life, is I was choosing to learn from my own experience instead of listening to mentors who had already learned from their experience. 

You can LISTEN & LEARN, or you can LIVE & LEARN. I think you will find listening and learning much easier and less painful. This is why I enjoy listening to testimonies on platforms like this. The Wise take counsel from many.
