Excerpt:

Technology has a way of revolutionizing an industry once it’s been introduced. This has been seen in the legal space as automation, and the introduction of spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and legal research software has made processes much more efficient. The impact can be seen when looking at document management, courtroom operation, and law firm practices.

Law Firm Technological Advancements

For many years, traditional paper invoices were used for billing clients. That’s now been replaced with electronic billing. Most law firms are also involved in marketing their practices on the web. Technology has made it easier to create a website and legal blogs. It’s an excellent tool where a law firm can interact with potential clients and show their expertise. Case files have also been affected by technology. They’re now being stored in databases, which makes it much easier for a paralegal or attorney to search, edit or distribute them.
