How I Won National Publicity On HuffPost

Publicity is so important in generating buzz and recognition for your brand. A few days ago, I landed a story in the HuffPost.

Already, I am attracting more opportunities and referrals.

Working with the press can be challenging and time consuming. But when you land a story with a major outlet, it can represent many more opportunities being created for your brand than you could generate with only advertising.

Publicity builds trust, credibility, and exposure to markets otherwise untapped.  

Publicity vs. Marketing

Marketing is communicating directly with consumers. This is done through advertising, corporate partnerships, sales teams, and social media promotions.

Publicity is the deliberate attempt to manage the public’s perception of a subject or brand. From a marketing perspective, publicity is but just one vital component within a broader marketing strategy.

Publicity refers to press coverage – TV, radio, print, online – and it’s the publicist’s role to secure media placement. Publicity is more narrative, focusing on telling a newsworthy story.
