7 Simple DIY Content Marketing Strategy Tips

7 Simple DIY Content Marketing Strategy Tips

Your content is your brand’s best digital ambassador as much as anything else.

A website without robust content is a stagnant website. Social media without continually sharing content, created or curated, is a dying vacuum. Branding without a well-developed content marketing strategy is performed by those who do not know how consumers discover and build trust with companies such as yours.

Yet, I continually hear how creating content is either expensive, confusing, or requires too much effort and time. And while there is some truth in these beliefs, there is always an undercut of how to create content for your brand.

Add Value With Your Content

As long as your content is authentic and adds value to your core audiences, you will begin to win at the content marketing game. And your best foundation for a sound content strategy is video.

I know, “Video is so hard and I don’t have any skills or good equipment.”

Not true. Not in today’s business landscape.

An iPhone, ny inexpensive tripod, and some courage is where you can begin.

“A content marketing plan doesn’t have to be complicated. Don’t be intimidated by the trove of books so-called content marketing experts have been written; much of what you need to learn about content marketing can only be learned by doing.” - Forbes

7 Simple DIY Content Marketing Strategy Tips

Tip No. 1: Get over the idea that your content has to be perfect. Perfection is the blood brother to procrastination. You’re afraid and fear is not an emotion that grows a brand.

Tip No. 2: Make a complete list of the top questions and challenges you and your team hear when dealing with customers and new prospects.

Tip No. 3: Now write a short list of bullet points of how you would address those challenges or how you typically answer those questions. No need to be completely detailed in your answers. You want to give an overview which demonstrates your knowledge and competence as brand. This builds authority

Tip No. 4: Now turn each question and challenge into an individual video. No longer than three minutes. This could be a Facebook live and then uploaded to YouTube.

Tip No. 5: Now boost that Facebook live video (if you created that video from your fan or business page).

Tip No. 6: Share your YouTube video on your other social channels. Moreover, send a link of it via email and texting.

Tip No. 7: Get your YouTube video transcribed at Rev.com. Polish it up and ten turn it into a blog post. As well, post that blog post on LinkedIn Pulse, Medium, and Quora. All those blogging platforms are free.

At some point you will want to upgrade your content with dedicated employees or by contracting some experts in the field of digital marketing. But this is not be a reason on why you cannot begin with these simple DIY content marketing tips.
