Description

As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Project Manager to join our team. As a Commercial Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing commercial construction projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating various project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards, and fostering effective communication among project stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project management professional to contribute to the success of Mill Creek’s commercial projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop project plans, objectives, and specifications.
  • Create and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for project execution.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to provide updates, address concerns, and maintain effective communication among all stakeholders.
  • Supervise and monitor project activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the work of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring quality standards are met and project milestones are achieved.
  • Identify potential risks, issues, and obstacles that may impact project progress and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Perform regular site visits to monitor project progress, resolve conflicts, and address any on-site challenges.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control measures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and claims to protect the interests of Mill Creek Granite and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to ensure accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and project cost reporting.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related inquiries, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, milestones achieved, and any potential impacts on project timelines or budgets.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and final walkthroughs to verify project completion, snagging any deficiencies, and coordinating necessary remediation.
  • Manage the project closeout process, including documentation, warranties, and final payments, ensuring client satisfaction and timely project handover.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a project manager on commercial projects, with a strong understanding of construction and manufacturing processes, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, including scheduling and budgeting software.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
