Summary
The Associate Relations Investigator is responsible for partnering with both area Associate Relations Representatives and organizational leadership leading AR investigations into alleged violations of SIA's policies and procedures.
Further, this role is responsible for presenting findings to HR leadership and making recommendations resulting from investigation conclusions to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of Associates while maintaining all investigation documentation in alignment with SIA's recordkeeping practices.
Essential Job Functions
- Leads AR investigations of moderate to advanced complexity regarding alleged violations of organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive Associate concerns, including complaints or reports made via various channels, such as the Open Lines system or corporate compliance program.
- Communicates effectively on investigation statuses to all relevant stakeholders.
- Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents, and/or other written materials.
- Independently arrives at conclusions and presents findings to HR leadership for further action, including recommendations on outcomes.
- Trends organizational issues by taking a broad view of investigatory activity and making recommendations for organizational changes including, but not limited to, policy revisions and/or business process/practice transformation.
- Acts as liaison to AR leadership regarding the coordination of activity required for the administration of the Peer Review Panel Policy
- Supports the AR Section by acting as a spokesperson for SIA's position regarding unions.
- Functions as EEO Coordinator.
- Supports AR leadership in advising the organization on laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, labor relations, and human resources.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Participates in special projects as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, trust and discretion in dealing with confidential witnesses, documents and other matters resulting from the investigation process.
- Strong mediation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to act professionally under highly emotional situations.
- Ability to investigate complaints of alleged discrimination and/or harassment impartially.
- Possession of effective writing skills, including the ability to clearly articulate (both in writing and verbally) based on facts and information gathered during investigations.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to both solicit and evaluate information given by parties involved in the investigation process
Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Relevant certification: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP
- Manufacturing experience
- Verifiable leadership experience
