    Job Purpose


    Water is one of the most important issues facing Colorado – and we're looking for a passionate individual to help establish vibrant, waterwise yards as the new norm in Colorado through landscape conversion and education.

    Garden In A Box, an innovative program of Resource Central, has served as an industry leader for waterwise conservation throughout the Front Range for over 20 years and provides Colorado residents an approachable solution to use less water through our assortment of practical, and fun program offerings.

    The Waterwise Seminar Series provides additional landscape conversion education and support to program participants via free and accessible seminars.

    The Customer Support Specialist role will be responsible for administrative tasks and customer service for some of Resource Central's most popular conservation programs including Garden In A Box and the Waterwise Seminar Series.

    This role is based in our Boulder office, with hybrid remote-work flexibility in fall and winter. Travel required throughout the Front Range in spring and summer to support garden distribution events & waterwise seminars.     Principal Responsibilities

    The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


    Provide operational support for a variety of water conservation programs and events including Garden In A Box and the Waterwise Yard Seminar series.

    The majority of this role will be spent on the Garden In A Box program.
    Deliver exceptional customer service to a large number of customers via phone, email, and in-person.

    Prepare and execute the Garden In A Box program through a variety of tasks including customer engagement, preparation of product materials, event planning, preparation and execution, and customer communications.

    Become an expert on Garden In A Box processes, procedures, and software with ability to identify problem areas and contribute to finding solutions.

    Communicate knowledgeably and effectively with program participants about all of Resource Central's programs; provide information by answering questions and requests.

    Support seasonal staff for Garden In A Box events, as well as other events as needed.
    Support Coordinator in execution of Waterwise Yard Seminar series including preparation of seminar materials and moderating online webinars.
    Generate, compile, and analyze reports; develop and maintain databases and/or spreadsheets; prepare specific and recurring reports containing specialized information.

    Contribute to the success of all water programs and contribute towards building a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented team; accomplish department and organization missions by completing related tasks as needed.

    Skills And Abilities

    Outstanding phone etiquette and customer service skills.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve required.
    Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment required.
    Flexibility and willingness to assist others to accomplish shared goals.
    Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite required.
    Basic computer, iPad, and smartphone skills are preferred.
    Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
    Reliability while working independently is required.

    Ability to complete physical labor, including being able to safely lift a maximum of 30 lbs, and willingness to work outside in all kinds of weather including high temperatures, rain, and snow on occasion is required.

    Qualifications

    Prior customer service experience in a professional setting.
    Knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in, gardening, plants, and/or low-water landscaping is strongly desired.
    Availability on weeknights and Saturdays is required during April – September.

    Ability to work onsite daily in the Boulder office and throughout the Front Range is required during April – September.

    To qualify for driving responsibilities, applicants are required to be 21 years of age by April 27, 2023.

    A valid driver's license, automobile insurance, daily access to a reliable automobile, and a smartphone with a data plan are required.

    Must pass a background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.
    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
