    Job Description and Duties

    Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, Physician Conduct/Complaint Intake Section, the Management Services Technician (MST) performs the less technical review and analysis of incoming mandatory reports submitted pursuant to Business and Professions Code (BPC) sections 805.01, 805, 805.8 and Malpractice reports submitted by insurers as mandated in BPC section The MST is responsible for managing the initial intake and review of this caseload; requesting and reviewing supporting legal documentation, medical records, and other materials relative to the case. The MST also performs the initial intake and initiation of complaints submitted to the Board via mail, email, online complaint system, etc. The MST provides assistance and information to interested parties contacting the Board's Complaint telephone line.

    Working Conditions

    MBC has temporarily adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. After an initial training period, this position may allow for some telework opportunities. All telework schedules are temporary, based on current conditions and will be re-evaluated as conditions change.

  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
    • Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.
