The Royal Group, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Royal Bay Cicero, IL facility.

The Maintenance Technician - Fulfillment is responsible for preventive maintenance (PM), diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairs of tools, conveyors, pneumatic staples, hydraulic equipment and small motors, as well as general warehouse and facility repairs and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Uses hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) for the conveyer systems, and pneumatic electrical equipment.
  • Performs maintenance on all warehouse equipment i.e., hot glue machines, glue guns, pinch rollers, tape machines, pneumatic and hand staple guns, baler, heat seal and bagging machines.
  • Assist production lines with machine setups.
  • Building maintenance responsibilities include painting, upkeep of warehouse and surrounding areas and grounds. Coordinates with the building owners on any repairs for plumbing work.
  • Keeps the facility and walkways clean of snow and ice during the wintertime.
  • Tracks and maintains inventory of tools and products that are used in the warehouse i.e., tape, glue, shrinkwrap, etc. and notify manager when supplies are low.
  • Ensures proper storage of cleaning supplies and equipment and maintains all chemicals in secure areas.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Follows company safety rules and procedures consistently, taking extra precautions when maintenance is being completed.
  • Maintains knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic systems via ongoing training and technical reading.
  • Perform other related duties and activities as required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:


  • High school diploma or GED or technical or vocational training.
  • Minimum two years' experience in maintenance and repair in an industrial and/or warehouse environment required; equivalent combination of education and experience is also fully qualifying.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:


  • Knowledge and the ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to operate hand, power and specialized tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues concurrently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, in written or verbal form including operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and short correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and employees and to present information in small group settings.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Must be bilingual. Spanish/English.
