    As a member of APL's Talent Services team you'll contribute to our core purpose to build community, ignite talent and partner to enable defining innovations.

    As Retirement Plans Administrator you will...

    In partnership with Retirement Plans Manager, act as an advisor to the APL Pension Committee by assisting with regulatory change analysis and implementation.

    Function as Committee Secretary by setting meeting agendas, tracking and managing member term expirations/appointments, and drafting formal meeting minutes for review by the Committee Chair/Co-chairs.

    Manage the 457(f) non-qualified plan and the Taxable Personal Annuity (TPA) for Executives. Manage Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) process, including communications to impacted staff and retirees. Oversee Qualified Domestic Relation Order responses. Work closely with the Retirement Plans Manager on compliance matters, mandated testing, and audits. Review Form 5500's, Schedules and other IRS forms for submission to Retirement Plans Manager. Draft revisions to plan documents for review by Retirement Plans Manager. Partner with Retirement Plans Manager in support of all vendor relationship management activities. Counsel executives and staff members approaching retirement about the impact to their retirement plans. Create, facilitate, and produce educational modules and presentations on the Laboratory's retirement plans. Support bi-weekly plan funding process and accounting reconciliation. Stay current on regulatory environment through networking and professional memberships and certifications.

    Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent professional experience 5 years of experience in management of defined contribution retirement plans, preferably 403(b) and/or money purchase plans Proven experience interpreting plan documents Thorough understanding of applicable pension plan regulations Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Exceptional organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail Superior customer service, teamwork and interpersonal skills Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated proactive initiative in tackling issues Strong vendor relationship management skills Ability to conduct difficult conversations with staff and supervisors on sensitive topics You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you Have a Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field Possess formal benefits training such as CEBS or ASPPA courses or workshops Have previous work experience at a TPA or Recordkeeper Why work at APL?
