    Job Title: Physician Assistant-Transplant Surgery

    Location: Upper East Side

    Org Unit: Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation

    Work Days: Monday-Friday 4 days per week

    Exemption Status: Exempt

    Salary Range: $120, $146,700.00

    Position Summary

    With a legacy of over 60 years in transplant excellence at Weill Cornell Medicine, the Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Program aims to broaden transplantation opportunities for all patients seeking our care and expertise.

    We are currently seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team, assisting in the outpatient clinic, and providing post-transplant care to patients while collaborating closely with Nephrology and surgical teams. The ideal candidate will perform history and physical examinations, establish diagnoses, and conduct general work-ups along with ordering essential laboratory studies. Additionally, the Physician Assistant will be responsible for managing the patient's medical issues post-diagnosis, and may assist in pre, intra, and post-operative activities as well as contribute to research projects.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Perform clinical procedures under physician's supervision
    • Administer medications, fluids, and anesthetics
    • Prepare patient summaries, provide post-operative care, and assist in training health personnel
    • Participate in research activities, initiate examinations, and analyze data
    • Adjust medications, communicate with patients and families, and ensure continuity of care

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree

    Experience

    Graduate of an accredited Physicians' Assistant program from a recognized college or university.

    Approximately 2 years of clinical experience as a PA in a physician practice or hospital setting, preferably within a related specialty.

    Up to one year of post-degree course work and/or an internship and less than one year of previous experience may be considered.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Demonstrated experience in communication and relationship-building with clinical staff

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Current New York State Physician Assistant License & Registration
    • Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants, Inc (NCCPA)
