POSITION PURPOSE


The Leave of Absence Analyst is an integral part of the Total Rewards team, collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement company-wide leave of absence policies and procedures compliant with state and federal laws.

Leveraging expertise in leave management, the analyst conducts comprehensive research, offers guidance on policy interpretation, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations.

This position autonomously assesses and advises on a spectrum of leave-related matters, ranging from routine to complex cases. The Leave of Absence Analyst has frequent interaction with senior HR stakeholders, external vendors, and legal counsel.

Success in this position hinges on critical thinking, a deep understanding of leave policies and regulations, and specialized knowledge of human resources practices, government regulations and analytical skills.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
*Develops and implements initiatives to enhance the leave management process, including streamlining procedures, improving documentation, and implementing technology solutions to increase efficiency.


Conducts regular audits and assessments of leave processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

*Leads the development and implementation of leave-related communication strategies, including written materials, presentations, and webinars, to educate team members and leaders on leave-related topics. This includes but is not limited to best practices, compliance requirements, and company policies pertaining to leave management.

Leads the review and analysis of leave data and trends, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.


Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Safety, and Risk Management, to ensure alignment of leave policies with company goals and objectives.


Provides guidance and support to senior leadership on complex leave cases, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees while mitigating organizational risk.

Partners with team to analyze and report on leave trends. Develops and implements action items based on analysis findings.

*Acts as a liaison with external vendors and third-party administrators, managing relationships and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma with a minimum of four or more (4+) years of experience in benefits administration or in a general human resources role demonstrating increasing level of responsibility. Prior leave administration experience or program lead experience.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: In-depth understanding of federal and state leave laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA), state-specific leave laws (including but not limited to California, Nevada, and Arizona), and other relevant statutes.

Proficiency in HRIS and leave management software preferred.

**SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong ability to adapt procedures and processes to accomplish the requirements of the position.

Strong ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

Ability to be flexible in changing work priorities.

Ability to act in a responsive manner to customer inquiries and requests; escalates the more difficult matters as necessary.

Strong ability to present to small groups and communicate complex matters easily to all levels of the organization.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

**CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Preferred but not required:
SHRM, HRCI, Certified Leave Management Specialist, or other related certification or continuing education coursework.
