    This position contributes to Starbucks success by leading a team of e-learning development professionals in the assessment, development and implementation of L&D programs and experiences that will improve the capabilities of partners and will enhance business results. This role oversees 2-4 e-learning developers and manages the delivery of learning and development programs and processes. This role relies on excellent project management skills, as well as creativity, adaptability, and solution-oriented growth mindset.

    As a manager, learning & development, you will...


    • Lead a team of sr e-learning developers and a sr. operations manager, aligning their work against broader strategic L&D and business priorities

    • Develop, plan and execute an e-learning development portfolio, in collaboration with the instructional design, graphic design, and media programming teams

    • Provide e-learning, authoring tool, LMS, and general learning technology expertise, consultation, and thought partnership to colleagues and stakeholders

    · Lead the team who administers Starbucks learning management system (LMS), MyLearning, to ensure system performance in support of the partner learning experience

    · Provide long-term strategic thought leadership regarding learning technology products and solutions and related innovation

    · Partner closely with Starbucks Technology team on strategic priorities and projects, as well as day to day problem-solving

    · Ensure all programs are supportive of and aligned with Starbucks inclusion & diversity aspirations and expectations.

    · Lead a team while role modeling Starbucks' leadership role and behavior expectations

    We'd love to hear from people with:


    • 8-10 years of progressive experience as a practitioner in e-learning development and learning technology


    • Demonstrated track record of coaching and developing individuals to achieve exceptional results.


    • Experience supporting adult learning and development and developing tools/training for employees at all levels of an organization strongly preferred.


    • Knowledge and application of adult learning theory, design through learning objectives and behavioral outcomes, instructional design process, best practices and standards, blended learning approaches and evaluation methods.


    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and visual communication skills


    • Understanding of accessibility requirements related to e-learning


    • Experience with the DomiKnow authoring tool.


    • Experience with SAP/Successfactors LMS

    *If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

    The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
