Responsibilities:


Under general supervision of the Team Leader, Health Information Services, perform a variety of duties both within and in support of the Health Information Services including accurate coding of all diagnoses and procedures in the established time frame, meeting established productivity standards, etc.

Responsible for providing coding for at least two types of records such as Inpatient, Same-day Surgery, Observation or ER. Provide mentoring and training to other coders as needed.

Responsible for maintaining professional credential through AAPC or AHIMA and all related continuing education units required by the credentialing agency.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of Coding Certificate or Degree through a CAHIIM accredited program, or the equivalent knowledge and experience required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years related work experience with CPT4 and ICD10 is required.
  • Working Knowledge of 3M software.
  • In-Depth knowledge of Local Medical Review Policies and National Coverage determinations are required.
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Pay Range:
USD $ USD $43.24 /Hr.
