- Engineer, design, and support of all WiFi products, including corporate WiFi, outdoor and indoor community WiFi services, commercial hotspots, WiFi roaming, Mobile Data Offload, etc.
- Maintain standard documentation including operations manuals, procedural documents, and network diagrams.
- Participate in advanced Wi-Fi problem resolution.
- Conduct maintenance windows for platform upgrades, deployments, integration, and service configuration.
- Perform site surveys.
- Explore automation routines to drive operational efficiencies.
- Prepare reports for KPI, inventory and project status.
- Interdepartmental collaboration to achieve business objectives.
- Participate in On-Call rotation.
- MS or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience, relevant network certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years' experience in WiFi and network engineering.
- Professional level knowledge of WiFi standards ac/ax, 802.11u (Passpoint / HotSpot 2.0).
- Professional level knowledge of RF concepts - RSSI, SNR, Channel width, beamforming, etc.
- Professional level knowledge of routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, IS-IS, etc.
- Professional level knowledge of network protocols - TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, EAP, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, PMIP, EoGRE, HTTPS, LDAP, SNMP, IPSec, SSL/TLS, LACP.
- Professional level knowledge of network mechanisms x, Tunneling, VPN, NAT, ACL, Load Balancing.
- Knowledge of Cisco Wireless Controllers (WLC), Access Points (AP).
- Experience with packet sniffing and Protocol Analysis Software.
- Basic knowledge of HFC and FTTx broadband network infrastructure a plus.

Job Summary
The Lead Wireless Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, operating and optimization of Wi-Fi infrastructure and networks in Altice USA footprint. The Engineer will play a key role in driving projects related to the design, integration, standardization, and hardware refresh and is responsible for the technical success of these projects. The candidate must be forward thinking and have a vision for the future of the network and team.
This position is based in Bethpage, NY but may require travel to the sites in the tri-state area as business justifies. This role will have no direct report.
