    Monmouth University is seeking applicants for an Assistant Coach - Defense Specialist, in the Athletics department.

    The candidate would be expected to:


    Coach and evaluate defensive players within a specific position group, which will include working closely with the defensive coordinator to formulate game and practice strategies, implementing practice plans that reflect the game plan strategies, and monitoring the progress of defensive players within that position group.


    The position will offer advice and suggestions to the defensive coordinator as it relates to the performance of the overall defense.

    Fulfill various administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach, and assist the Head Coach in all facets of the football program, while supporting the goals and objectives of the athletic department.

    • A valid driver's license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years

    Job Duties

    Duty

    Coach and evaluate defensive position for practice and competition. Make final decisions on defensive position depth chart and playing time.

    Research and implement defensive techniques and drills annually.

    Develop and put into action a weekly plan for the execution of practice, and the implementation of the defensive game plan.

    Develop and implement a recruitment strategy for prospects within a specific area. Identify and make final decisions on which prospects should be invited to campus for official and unofficial visits. Make final decisions on which defensive secondary prospects should be considered for athletic scholarships.

    Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated with which affects University Athletics.
