- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans that address the ELA curriculum and state standards, incorporating a variety of texts, genres, and writing assignments.
- Facilitate student understanding of literary elements, rhetorical devices, and language conventions through close reading and analysis.
- Provide opportunities for students to practice and improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in authentic contexts.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative classroom environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and engage with challenging texts.
- Assess student progress in reading and writing skills through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support growth and development.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning and promote digital literacy skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align instruction and share best practices for teaching ELA.
- Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and performance in ELA class.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts (or eligibility for certification).
- Previous experience teaching ELA at the high school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ELA curriculum, instructional strategies, and literacy development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
