- Develop and implement a comprehensive PE curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness and wellness.
- Plan and lead a variety of activities, exercises, and games that engage students and promote physical skill development.
- Provide instruction on proper techniques, safety guidelines, and sportsmanship principles in various physical activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged and supported.
- Assess student performance and progress in physical skills and fitness levels through observation and evaluation.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their physical abilities and achieve their fitness goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate health and wellness concepts into the broader school curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student participation and progress in PE class.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in Physical Education (or eligibility for certification).
- Previous experience teaching PE at the high school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physical fitness principles, sports, and recreational activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
