    Description

    Aurora Postgres Database Administrator

    Location: California (remote)

    Pay Rate: $87.59/hr.

    6-month assignment (potential to extend)

    Our leading ride share client is looking for a Postgres database administrator that will ensure reliability, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness of Aurora Postgres databases running on AWS infrastructure.

    Responsibilities:

    • Safeguarding the stability and reliability of company's payment transaction database.
    • Develop in-depth understanding of database design for Company's payment transactions.
    • Partner with Eng on current database partition/query design and performance optimization Develop strategy and tooling for monitoring database performance.
    • Identify and enforce missing best practices around connection management, VACUUM frequency, permissions, and others as identified.
    • Develop database back-up and recovery process Automate TxnHub partition maintenance (whatever is left if any)

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information technology, Computer Engineering, or related field experience is required.
    • 7+ years of Postgres administration experience. Deep experience administering petabytes-scale databases with partitioned tables
    • 7+ years of experience with AWS / Cloud tech 3+ years' experience with Python, SQL, or Java operating systems and cloud computing experience is beneficial.
