    Reports To: President & CEO
    Level: Exempt
    Salary: $110,000 - $140,000

    Who We Want
    The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive management team for My Possibilities (MP) and take on the strategic leadership role in overall financial processes and management of the financial team . Besides working closely with the CEO, members of the senior team, and their staff, the CFO is the principal staff liaison to the MP Finance Committee and attends MP Board meetings.

    As the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of My Possibilities, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's financial health and sustainability. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, including budgeting, financial planning, accounting, reporting and audit. Your strategic insights and financial expertise will be instrumental in guiding decision-making processes and driving the organization toward its mission and goals.

    Essential Functions:

    Leadership

    • Supervise the staff in the Finance Department.
    • Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate budget and expense functions and activities of Program/Department Directors.
    • Make recommendations concerning methods of reducing operating costs and increasing income.
    • Collaborate with the Development Team in the production of Grant Requests and Reporting.
    • Prepare and administer the annual budget and revenue projections. Incorporate Program/Department Directors into the budget process.
    • Perform timely variance analysis between the budget and the actual results on a monthly basis.
    • Discuss management issues, department budgets and major purchase priorities, policies and procedures and legal matters with Executive Management Team, and Department Directors as needed.
    • Coordinate and execute special projects as assigned.
    • Maintain regular communication with the Executive Management Team, Program Directors, , Finance Committee, Board of Directors and other key stakeholders on all financial matters.

    Accounting and Financial Reporting Functions

    • Consult with Executive Management and appropriate finance staff concerning the organization's financial affairs, development of operating policies and procedures, and organizational financial goals and objectives.
    • Oversee and improve the overall financial and general accounting operations of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and MP policies.
    • Provide analysis of organizational income, expenditures, and capital asset values with comparison to previous periods.
    • Conduct timely reviews of the financial statements and refer financial analysis to the CEO.
    • Ensure the accurate production and review of budget line analysis reports and consult with the CEO on findings. Ensure that Departmental monthly financial P&L (revenue and expenditure) reports are provided to the Department Directors in a timely fashion.
    • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly MP financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP and other federal and state laws and regulations.
    • Maintain a timely completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting regarding financial operations/reporting and Departmental outcomes measurement.
    • Implement and report financial key performance indicators (KPIs) in coordination with operations staff.
    • Maintain timely and accurate financial forecasting systems to inform key stakeholders of future direction.
    • Manage the annual external audit process including interfacing effectively with MP's external auditors.
    • Maintain quality control programs and implement and adhere to cost control measures.
    • Manage facility resources efficiently and provide training and guidance to staff to ensure the same.

    Ensure that the following functions are completed by the finance team:

    • Ensure the effective control and management of the accounts payable for the facility within requirements and deadlines. Monitor the approval process. Ensure proper coding to generate the ledger. Audit payment and ensure effective use of aging.
    • Ensure the effective audit of accounts receivables and payables for the organization.
    • Ensure the accurate processing and maintenance of the organization's payroll. Keep appropriate staff current on federal and state payroll tax laws, tax table changes, and processing procedures. Monitor the accuracy of employee payroll deductions and respond to errors quickly. Prepare and file federal and state payroll reports within deadlines on a quarterly basis.
    • Ensure that financial reporting covenants in MP's debt agreements are met in a timely fashion.

    • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operation model.
    • Written communication – Skill in writing concise and compelling reports and business summaries suitable for dissemination across the organization.
    • Presentation skills – can command an audience with a strong power of presence both in written communications and live presentations. Uses appropriate business language to communicate, influence, or persuade others to accept a specific action.
    • Conflict resolution skills – Resolves complex conflict situations.
    • Knowledge sharing – Ensure knowledge is shared appropriately throughout the organization.
    • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality deliverables within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
    • Ability to interact effectively with key external stakeholders, including donors/foundations, lenders and auditors.
    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Basic knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems (NetSuite or equivalent systems)

    Education

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent

    Experience

    • Ten or more years of broad finance experience and a senior leadership team member, specifically in managing finance, including accounting, budgeting, business planning, and reporting.
    • Not-for-profit experience is preferred with CMA or CPA certification.

    Specialized Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, etc.

    • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and valid car insurance required.
    • First Aid, CPR, AED, HIPAA, and SAMA or CPI certification, preferred.

    • Timely and accurate financial reporting
    • Consistent and accurate forecasting
    • Business managed within expense budget.
    • Audit completed with no adjustments or restatements.

    Working Conditions

    This position will be required to:

    • Sit, stand, and bend throughout the day.
