MISSION

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the interface between R&D and Production for technical matters pertaining to products and for coordinating actions required to maintain quality products.

This position is also responsible for the development of technical documents and maintenance of all assembly instructions, process checking instructions, production, and/or quality data acquisition and analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Documents and implements elements of product assembly and testing during design transfer of products from R&D engineering to production
Create and approves assembly instructions, including guidelines, photo, and video assembly steps
Assists in root cause problem solving driven by customer complaints/incidents related to production assembly processes for the purpose of identifying corrective/preventive action
Control of technical documents per procedure
Generate technical documents in support of the implementation of approved design changes
Maintain and expedite all new part number requests per procedure
Develop bills of materials and product structures in support of new product development or design change activity
Completion of design change checklist items as assigned
Recommend VE (Value Engineering) design changes as part of continual product improvement and cost reduction efforts
Develop, approve, and implement design changes post-release of product to production
Make recommendations to improve efficiency or quality of products through new assembly methods
Assist with the implementation of design changes driven by compliance requirements
Recommend improved LEAN Manufacturing principles in the production area
Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
Engineering degree, B.S.

WORK EXPERIENCE
5 Years of engineering experience
Knowledge of quality systems, including but not limited to: ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or FDA cGMP regulations
Experience with writing assembly instructions, QA control documentation
Experience generating technical documents
Experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer manufacturing software
Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent software
Office Suite
Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems
