Effectively manage the merchandise suite of systems to ensure quality product and customer experience
Apply effective communication upward and outward as required
Assess problems quickly and assign/ address with resolution plans within the normal SLA
Interact and build a good working relationship with:
+ Business team members for the products which are part of the merchandise suite of products and systems
+ Other merchandise team managers to build a total team approach for work
Interact with the PMO team and other technology team managers to ensure good communication lines, good working knowledge of systems expertise and partners for projects and support.
Manage the resources assigned to ensure their growth and success in the work and projects to which they are assigned
Work with the analysts on the team to ensure good requirements, test scenarios, plans and problem documentation for all work efforts
Establish and maintain productivity and efficiency using good time management skills
Work with both the end user community as well as the business teams to meet goals and deadlines for projects and support work
Plan for work ahead using a resource engagement plan to ensure resource availability
Develop work plans using a modified or hybrid Agile approach, focusing on MVP deliveries followed by releases of added functionality over the life of the product
Plan and execute weekly meetings with the managers in the merchandise systems team to ensure alignment, discovery, and resource availability
Meet weekly with the merchandise systems and applications team architect
Meet regularly with the assigned resources to facilitate understanding of work on-going, project tasks completion, meeting timelines, understanding issues and roadblocks and to build a relationship built on trust and respect
Manage and coordinate a support and Q/A team which will a managed services group which will be based external to our Tailored Brands team, either near-shore or off-shore
Work with the Sr. Director and VP:
+ As guidelines are provided for both semi-annual and annual appraisals to ensure timely delivery and administration of these appraisals to team members
+ To build out annual goals for the year both from and individual stance as well as for the resources who are assigned
Coordinate all delivery and work scheduled in the Merchandise Systems and Applications team enabling effective and collaborative research, solutioning, and problem solving.
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field required
8+ years of overall experience with a wide knowledge of technical and systems skills including older technologies such as basic as well as newer technologies such as python or java
3+ years of managerial experience that includes design, development, testing, deployment and support of systems and applications
Minimum 2 years of experience as an engineer, developer, or analyst
Understand the process and programming required for current ERP based solution which has been completely built in-house on a Multi-value database (Rocket UniVerse) using Pick-Basic as the programming language
Able to manage a wide range of engineers and developers who will build and deliver products in the current ERP in addition to new development in Web based tools such as AngularJS or ReactJS
Have a background that includes managing work in both traditional waterfall as well as more agile based methodologies
Working knowledge of retail merchandise systems and processes is a plus for this role
Be able to work with minimal supervision and understand shifting priorities while still providing overall expected deliverables
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
Hours regularly 40 hours per week
