    Job Description


    We are looking for a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team at the NYC Department of Design and Construction, Safety & Site Support Division. The main role of the selected candidate will involve overseeing the work of drilling contractors and geotechnical consultants to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities will also include planning, budgeting, and coordinating field investigations, conducting project site inspections for compliance with project requirements and safety regulations.

    Key duties of the Geotechnical Project Manager will include soil and bedrock classification, reviewing geotechnical reports and laboratory test data, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards. Additionally, the selected candidate will handle fee proposals, work orders, and invoice reviews to ensure contract compliance.



    Qualifications


    • A baccalaureate degree in geology, engineering, earth sciences, or related field with specified credits in relevant areas.
    • Professional experience in geologic field work or a related field.
    • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver License in the State of New York.


    Special Note:


    • Completion of a probationary period for Geologist - Assignment Level I.
    • Possibility of direct hiring at a higher salary level based on experience.


    Assignment Level II:


    • Requirements for advancement to Assignment Level II.
    • Additional years of professional experience or equivalent education.


    Qualifications Requirements for Tunnel and Shaft Construction Positions:

    Specific requirements for tunnel and shaft construction roles, including experience in rock and soil classification, mapping, and vibration monitoring.
