    Duration: 6+month contract
    Compensation Range: $40-$65 P/H

    Job Description:

    Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Systems Engineer/DBA to lead the design, development, and optimization of Oracle database systems. This role is pivotal in maintaining high-performance and highly available database environments essential for critical business operations. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in Oracle technologies, providing leadership and innovative solutions to complex database challenges.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design and optimization of databases, instances, and clusters.
    • Conduct system reviews to enhance application performance.
    • Mentor teams and provide expert guidance on Oracle database technologies.
    • Ensure IT solutions comply with industry best practices.
    • Develop effective database solutions by analyzing business and technical requirements.
    • Provide database consulting and design services.
    • Proactively manage and resolve database issues, maintaining robust relationships with IT and business partners.
    • Configure and support databases on VMware platforms, ensuring effective end-to-end support.

    Must-Haves:

    • 10+ years of experience in Database Engineering/DBA roles.
    • Proficient in RMAN, HADR, Data Guard, and Data-Domain.
    • Strong background in Oracle database design, deployment, and optimization.
    • Expertise in SQL, DML, DDL, and advanced database procedures.
    • Proven ability in managing 24/7 database operations.
    • Oracle Data Administrator Certification.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).

    Nice-to-Haves:

    • Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), DB2 Connect, MicroStrategy, or Cognos.
    • Familiarity with programming languages or Unix shell scripts.
    • Experience working with offshore teams or managed service providers.
    • Knowledge of Postgres, MYSQL, AZURE, ITIL.
    • Experience with systems monitoring tools like Datadog.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong project management and leadership abilities.
    • Experience supporting vendor-delivered software products.
