Your impact:
Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering
techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project. Will be capable of exercising
independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques,
procedures and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and
specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
Responsibilities include prepares technical reports (20%). Lays out full plan designs, plan details and
outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed
segment of a project (35%). Prepares technical specifications for review and approval (5%). Reviews and
approves design drawings for assigned segment of project (10%). Assists with development of design
guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures (10%). Performs field tests & measurements,
collects field data, as necessary (10%). Provides assistance and support to proposal teams or proposal
managers (5%). Preliminary supervisory responsibilities to junior staff (5%).
***Minimum 3-days-per-week in office. Option to work from remote location the other days.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering from an ABET accredited program and 2 years of related
experience in civil engineer or similar roles. In addition, we require candidates to have experience
utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment,
including civil 3D, ORD, ICPR, HY-8, ASAD. Experience with construction plans for roadway drainage
projects. Experience with engineering calculations related to analysis of drainage systems. Experience
with solving engineering problems working hand-in-hand with roadway designs and bridge (structure)
designers. Must have Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
