The regular training period is three years. Some vocational schools and AWO care facilities offer the option to complete the training part-time or while working. In this case, the training can take up to five years. If you already have previous knowledge in nursing, the training period can be shortened by up to two years.

Elderly care is about building relationships. Together with experienced nursing professionals, you will manage the daily lives of older people and find out how you can best support them. You also have the opportunity to learn about other settings such as home care, acute care, and day care
