    Department Purpose
    The Department of Information Technology Services provides and maintains the technical and related services for college-related computer, computing, communication, and student technology needs.

    Position Summary
    The Senior Director of Information Technology Services leads all functions of the ITS Department including staff training and development, acquisition, installation, maintenance, and support of college technology, and preparation of department budget.

    This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with Department of Education guidelines. As a CSA, the incumbent is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety and must attend related annual training.

    In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes , this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.
    Job Duties

    Essential Functions
    • Provides leadership and vision for technology solutions for college needs, both administrative and instructional.
    • Develops, directs, and works with college divisions and departments for the development and implementation of strategic plans for the college's administrative and academic computing, including the definition and development of procedures, standards, compliance, audits and processes for security, change management, operations, networking and systems support.
    • Manages required support for IT staff in the delivery of 24 x 7 support coverage for security management, technology implementation and integration and incident response for servers / peripherals, desktop computers, peripherals, voice systems, video solutions, web solutions and other areas as required.
    • Oversees continuous improvements of the IT infrastructure and core processes to ensure business alignment, processes integration and operational excellence.
    • Serves as a functional expert in managing teams that design and support networking, telephone and security services.
    • Evaluates, monitors and maintains network systems required by clients and providing direction and supervision of the network technical support staff.
    • Acts as an IT liaison between system colleges and the system office for technology support and integration.
    • Escalates critical client problems that may become serious service delivery issues in managing operations and services needs for the network, data center and enterprise computing services.
    • Develops and monitors department budget and expenditures.
    • Oversees staffing responsibilities including hiring and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Consults and interacts with software, hardware and technology vendors to research and identify new technology solutions based on PCC's needs and to work on the resolution of problems resulting from problem escalation for existing products.
    • Performs hands on evaluations and recommendations on new hardware and software solutions provided from a variety of vendors in correlation with defined college business needs.
    • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to provide technology solutions based on need and service requirements.
    • Provide project management and oversight for IT related projects including management and assessment of time, materials, and staffing needs including the interaction and involvement of other college personnel and resources. Includes the evaluation for adequacy and meeting of standards in the existing IT infrastructure. This includes evaluation to determine compatibility, licensing, and operability of products.
    • Provide technical hands-on installation and troubleshooting of software and hardware on computers, and network resources.
    • Provides application training to employees.
    • Ensures currency of ITS-related college protocols.

    • Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
    • Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
    • Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
    Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
    Experience:
    • Five or more years of experience with technology administration, local area networks, enterprise software systems, IT maintenance and support, systems security, and/or help desk.
    • Three or more years of experience at the CIO, VP, or Director level.
    • Three or more years of experience leading organizational change.
    Licenses or Certificates:
    • ITIL or PMI/project management certification (Preferred).
    Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    • Knowledge of laws, accreditation standards, and best practices in system administration, system security, software development and deployment, help desk operations, and disaster recovery.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Server, Windows, and application products.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Ellucian Banner.
