    As a Senior Psychologist within the Outpatients service, your tasks may include

  • The Senior Psychologist is based within the Outpatient program at Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • The role involves the provision of specialist mental health assessment, intervention, and clinical management to address the mental health needs of men within Ravenhall Correctional Centre.
  • The Senior Psychologist provides a high level of clinical psychological expertise, consultation and advice to Forensicare clinicians, GEO prison and clinical staff and Correct Care Australiasia staff on complex clinical matters.
  • Contributes to special projects, committees and working parties within the organisation including the development of policies and procedures.
  • As a senior professional representative, the position also provides consultancy and advice to other agencies and key stakeholders.
  • The Senior Psychologist also participates in the training and supervision of psychology placement students, interns and staff of other disciplines where appropriate.

  • About You:

  • Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery.
  • Previous working experience in a mental health facility, or a forensic mental health service would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge in clinical forensic psychology including forensic assessments (, assessment of risk for violence) and intervention with offenders and/or forensic clients.
  • A good understanding of the current psychological approaches in working with male patients experiencing mental illness in the forensic mental health setting
  • What you need:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent, or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
  • The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
  • This position is subject to a Police Check.

    COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence

    Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.
