    Role

    – 3 days per week ( FTE) with some flexibility regarding days.
  • Clinical Psychologist – P3
  • Provide gold standard mental health care, via psychology discipline specific assessments, formulation and treatment.
  • Provide evidence based therapeutic support to clients with a range of mental health diagnoses including mood, anxiety, psychosis, trauma and personality disorders.
  • Facilitate recovery oriented, psychological therapy specific groups for clients and work with the team to identify clients requiring therapy and support.
  • Work alongside another Senior Clinical Psychologist and therapy staff, as a key senior member within a thriving and collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Offer consultation, collaborative treatment planning, and workforce learning to a team that is keen to grow and develop.
  • Contribute to service development and therapy group development.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring to P2 Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars.
  • Receive supervision from the P4 Psychologist.
  • Be part of a consumer-centred recovery-oriented service, which is inclusive of carers and families.
  • ABOUT YOU:

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Psychologist with Area of Practice Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • PBA approved Supervisor status or eligible and willing to work towards the same.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve effectively.
  • Knowledge in different evidence based therapeutic techniques, preferably including CBT, ACT, DBT.
  • Knowledge of different referral pathways for clients requiring short- and long-term supports.
  • A good working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act and relevant legislation.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid or willing to participate in the vaccination program.

    Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in southwest metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
