- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility and service needs
- Adapt and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility for students with visual impairments
- Utilize assistive technology and other resources to support student learning
- Advocate for the needs of students with visual impairments within the school community
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Visual Impairment Education or a related field
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and Braille
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Open to candidates with out-of-state licenses
