The mission of INEOS O&P USA's Product Stewardship management program is to protect the company from both anticipated and unforeseen risks associated with the development, design, and production of each product all the way to its delivery to each customer.

Product Stewardship links the quality and regulatory compliance aspect of SHE policies and practices to ensure products are developed, manufactured, marketed, and shipped without harm to people, infrastructure, or the environment.

This position is the key team member who works with businesses to help drive sustainable growth. As such, the Advisor must possess technical skill and regulatory understanding to support critical product stewardship business needs.


_ Purpose of Job_


The Product Stewardship Advisor role ensures that externally imposed requirements and standards in areas such as food contact and chemical control regulations are understood and followed by the organization.

Compliance with the aforementioned regulations and external standards impacts INEOS O&P USA's ability to operate, move products in the countries it wishes to operate and market products to meet certain customer requirements.

Additionally, this role ensures that effective systems are in place across the O&P USA activities to assess and minimize risk from outside requests and drive continuous improvement in responses to outside customers and agencies.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities


The
Product Stewardship Advisor, provides expert regulatory guidance and leadership and is a participant on Asset, Segment, and Tech Service & Development (TS&D) teams.

This position is the key team member who advises the businesses on how to maintain compliance while driving sustainable growth.

The policy and practices of Product Stewardship support and sustain the mutual goal of Manufacturing and Operations to gain the most value from each product and ensure compliance in all markets in which O&P operates.


Ensure O&P compliance with global chemical registration and chemical safety laws necessary to sell products in countries of interest.

  • Provide specialized technical and regulatory expertise as needed via internal or external resources to support and deliver continued compliance.
  • All products, both existing and experimental, as well as their process intermediates, impurities, and byproducts are assessed to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, potential market expectations, and established product safety requirements.
  • Product registrations, certifications, drug master files, etc. are maintained according to corresponding procedures and regulations.
  • Review experimental production orders (EPOs) and Product Spec Changes as part of the product development process and assist with bringing those products to the marketplace according to plan and in compliance with all applicable regulations. Record Product Stewardship comments on the product development workflows to communicate any regulatory concerns prior to implementation.
  • Review and approve new and existing raw materials, such as additives, catalysts, processing aides, water treatment chemicals, etc. to document regulatory compliance for specific end uses.
  • Issue and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to communicate product hazards.
  • Manage customer communications concerning product regulatory status and clearances while always cognizant of legal liabilities.
  • Issue and update each product's Regulatory Position Statements (RPS) in timely fashion to communicate compliance to external customers.
  • Understand olefins and polymers product slate and commercial strategy in order to advise operating companies on chemical registration and toxicology emerging issues.
  • Review customer concerns and respond within at timely manner.
  • Interact with other INEOS companies to ensure effective and efficient compliance for transactions involving multiple parties.
  • Manage compliance with global inventory registrations, such as US EPA TSCA and EU REACH.
  • Advocate O&P interests as product legislation and regulations are developed.

Project Management

  • Takes a visible and supporting role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining a written Product Stewardship Program across all management practices through strategy development, active engagement, documentation, communication, and resource allocation.
