    THE POSITION

    The employee in this position is responsible for ensuring clinical and regulatory compliance, including complaint investigation and criminal history reviews for the commonwealth wide EMS system through the Bureau of EMS.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    Duties assigned in this position include but are not limited to receiving and evaluating complaints and allegations of potential violations of the EMS Act, rules and regulations, protocols, and scope of practice.

    You also maintain accurate and complete case files, develop reports, conduct investigations and interviews, and present completed investigations as a case review with proposed courses of action including disciplinary actions.

    Other duties include providing guidance to regional councils on regulatory compliance issues, providing decisions on criminal history and complaint investigations, processing certification applications, and conducting inspections.

    The employee in this position reports to the System Operations Program Manager.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
    • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
    • Telework:
    You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • Five years of professional experience planning, developing, evaluating or operating an emergency medical service program or providing EMS certified training or administering a college EMS training program;or
    • Two years of professional experience planning, developing, evaluating or operating an emergency medical services program, or providing EMS certified training or administering a college EMS training program; and a bachelors degree in health policy and administration, economics, statistics, public or business administration, emergency medicine, nursing or a related medical field;or
    • Three years of professional experience planning, developing, evaluating or operating an emergency medical services programs, or providing EMS certified training or administering a college EMS training program; and an associate degree in health policy and administration, economics, statistics, public or business administration, emergency medicine, nursing or a related medical field; or
    • Four years of professional experience planning, developing, evaluating or operating an emergency medical services program or providing EMS certified training or administering a college EMS training program; and 30 credits in health policy and administration, economics, statistics, public or business administration, emergency medicine, nursing or a related medical field.

    Develop procedures and policies based on interpretations of newly promulgated state and federal laws to ensure compliance of EMS systems, including categorization of facilities, patient transfer, drug control, etc.
