    Description

    We are seeking an experienced attorney specializing in general liability or premises liability or insurance defense to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for representing insurance companies and their insureds in litigation related to general and premises liability claims.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct legal research and analysis to assess the merits of cases and develop defence strategies.
    • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
    • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents necessary for litigation.
    • Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts.
    • Work closely with clients, claims adjusters, and experts to investigate claims and gather evidence.
    • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties when appropriate.
    • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on risk management and loss prevention strategies.
    • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal developments affecting general and premises liability.
    • Maintain accurate and timely case management and reporting.
    • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case handling and client satisfaction.

    Requirements:

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the state bar and in good standing with no disciplinary actions.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on General Liability or Premises Liability or Insurance Defense and litigation.
    • Strong litigation skills, including trial experience.
    • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
    • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively.
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
    • Familiarity with insurance policies and coverage issues related to general and premises liability.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
